Tony Barboza

Tony Barboza is an editorial writer at the Los Angeles Times, focusing on climate change and environmental issues since October 2006. As a member of the editorial board, Tony reports and writes editorials and commentary pieces. Prior to this role, Tony served as a staff writer at the Los Angeles Times, specializing in climate change, environmental health, and local news across California. Additionally, Tony is a member of the Board of Directors for the Society of Environmental Journalists and was a Ted Scripps Fellow in Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder. Early career experiences include positions as a staff writer for the Claremont Courier and an editorial intern at High Country News. Tony holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Pomona College.
