Romain Hourqueig has a diverse work experience in the field of fire safety engineering. Romain is currently serving as the President of the SFPE French Chapter, where they organize technical seminars on fire safety and engineering. Romain has been a member of the board and secretary for the organization since 2010.
In 2019, Romain co-founded Studio Fahrenheit, a fire safety engineering practice, where they provide support for building design and construction projects worldwide. Romain is well-versed in French, British, and American fire safety standards.
Prior to that, Romain worked at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff in the UK as the Director and Head of UK Fire Engineering from 2015 to 2018. Romain also served as an Associate Director and Associate Fire Engineer at WSP Group, where they played a key role in the development and delivery of fire safety engineering activities in France and internationally from 2007 to 2013.
Romain's early experience includes working as a Fire Engineer at Lawrence Webster Forrest from 2004 to 2007.
Romain Hourqueig obtained their DUT (Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie) in Hygiène, sécurité et environnement from Université de Bordeaux, where they studied from 2001 to 2003. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Fire Safety Engineering at Ulster University for the academic year 2003 to 2004.
