Tom Wood

Tom Wood is an accomplished professional in the fields of rescue and adventure writing, currently serving as Brand Manager and Industrial Project Manager at Harken Safety & Rescue since January 2019. As President of the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians since June 2009, Tom has demonstrated leadership and expertise in the industry. In addition to roles as General Manager at Cascade Rescue Company and Mission Coordinator for the Alpine Rescue Team, Tom has authored "Trading Steel for Stone: Tales of a Rustbelt Refugee Turned Rocky Mountain Rescuer" and numerous rescue-related narratives. Tom is also a Terrestrial Rescue Delegate to the International Commission for Alpine Rescue and previously held the position of Technical Department Manager at Pigeon Mountain Industries. Tom's service in the United States Marine Corps as a Combat Photographer further highlights a diverse background, supported by an education from Kent State University.
