Geophysics Division at SOCOTEC Italia

Salvatore Cretella has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Salvatore currently holds the position of Geophysics Division Technical Head at SOCOTEC Italia since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Environmental Technician at Gruppo Maurizi from July 2019 to November 2021, where they were responsible for monitoring the environment and investigating sources of pollution through laboratory and field tests. Their role included tasks such as collecting water samples and performing project monitoring and air sampling. Before that, Salvatore had a two-month internship as an Exploration Geologist at Edison SpA in 2018, where they provided seismic and geophysical interpretation for a gas prospect. Salvatore utilized specialized software and conducted analysis on 3D seismic data. Their work experience also includes a practical training at the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia in 2016, where they performed analysis on pyroclastic samples using different analytical methods.

Salvatore Cretella received their Bachelor's Degree (with honors) in Geological Science from the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, completing their studies from 2011 to 2014. Salvatore then pursued a Master's Degree (with honors) in Geology and Applied Geology from the same institution, attending from 2014 to 2017.

In 2018, Salvatore briefly enrolled in the II Level Master program in "Petroleum Geoscience" at the Università degli Studi della Basilicata.

Additionally, Salvatore obtained two certifications: a GIS - Geographic Information Systems - Livello Specialised certificate from AICA - Associazione Italiana per l'Informatica ed il Calcolo Automatico in July 2017, and an ESB Level 1 Certificate in ESOL International All Modes - (B2) from English Speaking Board (International) Ltd. in July 2016.
