Iliya Kardashliev

Iliya Kardashliev has a diverse work experience in finance and administration. Iliya began their career as an Audit Assistant at KPMG Bulgaria, where they participated in audit engagements for companies from various industries. Iliya then transitioned to the role of Manager in Financial Advisory Services at KPMG, where they were involved in financial modeling, business valuations, corporate restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions across multiple geographies.

In 2012, Iliya joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as a Principal Banker in the Sustainable Infrastructure Group. Iliya'sresponsibilities included origination, structuring, execution, and monitoring of financing transactions in infrastructure sectors such as transport, water and wastewater, district heating, energy efficiency, and municipal services.

In 2020, they joined the American University in Bulgaria as the Vice President for Finance and Administration. In this role, they were in charge of the financial function of the university, including budgeting, financial planning, financial statements preparation, and endowment management.

Currently, Iliya serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Management Board at Sofia Airport, where they are responsible for financial control and management.

Iliya Kardashliev attended the American University in Bulgaria from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. In 2008, they also obtained a certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute. More recently, in November 2022, Iliya obtained a certification in Agile Foundations for Leaders from AgilePool.
