Jan Laan

Jan Laan has a diverse work experience in the software industry. Jan started their career in 2012 as a Software Engineer at User.nl BV, where they were responsible for building various software applications, with a main project focused on business automation software for facility companies. Jan worked on both mobile apps (iOS, Android) using C# (Xamarin) and web-based applications using PHP, SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS. Jan was with User.nl BV until February 2015.

In 2015, Jan Laan joined Software Improvement Group (SIG) as a Consultant, specializing in Software Security. Jan started as a Consultant in March 2015 and worked in this role until December 2019. During this time, they gained expertise in software security and provided consulting services in this area.

Jan Laan then advanced to the role of Senior Consultant - Software Security at SIG in January 2020. Jan held this position until June 2022. As a Senior Consultant, they continued their work in software security and also took on additional responsibilities in guiding and mentoring junior consultants.

Currently, Jan Laan holds the position of Senior Consultant at SIG, starting in June 2022.

Jan Laan obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Informatica from the University of Amsterdam, where they studied from 2007 to 2012. Jan then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in System and Network Engineering at the same university from 2013 to 2015. In October 2018, they obtained the CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional) certification from (ISC)².
