Werner Heijstek

Werner Heijstek has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Werner started their career as a Quality Control Engineer at Cyco Software in 2002. Werner then worked as an Outbound Telesales Agent at T-Mobile before joining KPN Mobile as a Network Engineer. At KPN Mobile, they were responsible for mapping and documenting systems related to the Multimedia Message Services Center.

In 2007, Heijstek began their academic career at Leiden University, initially as a Visiting Researcher at Capgemini India. During this time, they collected metrics on software productivity. Werner later became a Lecturer and a Ph.D. Candidate/Promovendus at the university. Werner successfully defended their doctoral dissertation and published academic work in various journals and proceedings.

Heijstek also had research fellowships at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and the University of Haifa, Israel. These roles allowed him to collaborate with other research institutions and software development organizations.

Werner has held various roles, including Principal Consultant, Senior Management Consultant, and Director Delivery. In these positions, they were responsible for leading project teams, providing advice on IT strategy, and driving internal development of innovative approaches.
