Vlad Gheorghiu has a long and varied work experience in the field of quantum computing. Vlad began their career in 2004 as a PhD Student at Carnegie Mellon University, followed by a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. In 2011, they took on the role of Quantum Information and Computation Researcher at the University of Calgary. In 2013, they became an Affiliate at the Institute for Quantum Computing, followed by a Senior Researcher position and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow role. In 2016, they were a Senior Research Scientist at evolutionQ, and in 2017 they co-founded softwareQ Inc. Finally, in 2019, they became a Founding Member of Quantum Industry Canada.
Vlad Gheorghiu completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics at the University of Bucharest from 1999 to 2003. Vlad then pursued a PhD in Theoretical Physics (Quantum Computing) at Carnegie Mellon University from 2004 to 2010. Following this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Quantum Information and Computation at Carnegie Mellon University from 2010 to 2011.
