Rajiv Chopra has a long and varied career in the technology and medical device sectors. Rajiv began their career in 2002 at Sunnybrook as a Senior Scientist, Scientist, and Associate Researcher. In 2008 they co-founded Profound Medical Inc., a medical device company that manufactures the FDA-approved TULSA-Pro system for the treatment of prostate tissue. In 2009 they co-founded FUS Instruments, a company that provides preclinical solutions for focused ultrasound research. In 2012 they became a Professor and Associate Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. In 2019 they became the Chief Technology Officer of Solenic Medical Inc., a medical device company developing an innovative non-invasive treatment for infected metallic implants in the body. Rajiv also became the Owner of 8Fold Mfg LLC, a company in Dallas TX focused on helping companies in the technology sphere to accelerate their automation and data acquisition tasks. Finally, in 2022 they became the Director of Technology at Perigon Imaging, a company that provides precision diagnostics and treatment using cutting edge technology.
Rajiv Chopra obtained their BSc in Physics from McMaster University between 1992 and 1996. Rajiv then completed their PhD in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto between 1996 and 2001.
