Yanick Gervais joined Olymel with the acquisition of La Fernandière in 2016. The grandson of one of the founders, he spent 10 years as co-owner and general manager of this well-known Trois-Rivières company, which specializes in the production of a wide range of fresh sausages. He was initially appointed vice-president and general manager of this new Olymel subsidiary and subsequently named senior vice-president, operations, in 2018. In this capacity, he oversaw the operations of more than 30 plants located primarily in Quebec, as well as in four other Canadian provinces, in addition to supervising the logistics and engineering departments.
An accountant and tax specialist by training, Mr. Gervais worked for the accounting firm Dessureault, Leblanc, Lefebvre from 2001 to 2005. He has been very active in various committees involved in the professional affairs of chartered accountants, including training and recognition of the next generation. With a strong commitment to his community, he is involved with several charitable organizations. He completed a graduate degree and a bachelor's degree in accounting at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, as well as a master's degree in taxation (M. Fisc.) at the Université de Sherbrooke. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation (CPA,CA) in 2005.
