Willard MacDonald has a diverse work experience in the solar and technology industries. Willard currently serves as the President & CEO of Solmetric Corporation, an independent manufacturer of solar test and measurement equipment. Prior to this role, they were the VP of Solar Labs at Sunrun, a leading US home solar and energy services company. Willard also worked as a Director on the Board at Solectrac, where they led the company's financing efforts and its subsequent sale to Ideanomics. Before that, they held the position of VP of Solar Labs at Vivint Solar, where they played a crucial role in driving down the cost of solar installations. Willard also co-founded Solmetric Corporation, a manufacturer of tools for the solar industry, and served as its President and CEO until its acquisition by Vivint Solar. Willard began their career as an Electrical Engineer at Agilent Technologies.
Willard MacDonald obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they studied from 1989 to 1994. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in computer science at the same university, completing their studies from 1994 to 1996.
