Olivier Witmeur

Entrepreneurship Professor at Solvay Brussels School

Olivier Witmeur is a seasoned professional in the field of entrepreneurship, currently serving as an Entrepreneurship Professor at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management since September 2000. Witmeur teaches courses in Entrepreneurship, Business Planning, and Entrepreneurial Finance, while also focusing research on startup and scale-up strategies, effectuation, venture capital, and corporate venturing. In addition to the professor role, Witmeur holds positions as Academic Director of Solvay Entrepreneurs and Deputy Dean for Executive Education, and co-founded StartLAB.BRUSSELS in 2018. Previous experiences include serving as Owner of OMCR since 1994, a non-executive partner at Newpharma from 2014 to 2021, and various leadership roles such as CEO of EEBIC and CFO of OpenHR. Witmeur's academic background includes a PhD in Entrepreneurship and a Master's in Business Engineering, both from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.
