Maria José Alves

Maria José Alves has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Maria José started their career as a Business Controller at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, where they were responsible for financial and sales analysis and control. Maria José then transitioned to the field of education, working as a Finance and Management Accounting Lecturer at IPS - Escola Superior de Ciências empresariais.

After their teaching experience, Maria José Alves joined Solvay, where they held various roles. Maria José started as a Training, Knowledge Management & Human Resources Team Leader, where they were responsible for capturing and retaining knowledge during the migration of business activities to the Shared Services Center. Maria José also created the Training department and managed human resources and organizational development.

Maria José Alves then moved on to become Deputy Human Resources Manager and later Deputy Europe Human Resources Manager at Solvay, where they worked on implementing global HR practices and managing various HR initiatives. Maria José later served as the Solvay Business Services Human Resources Manager, responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with the business goals.

Maria José'smost recent role at Solvay was as the Human Resources, Finance & IT Customer Support WW Director, where they managed a multi-skilled team in the areas of HR, Finance, and IT. Maria José also served as the Program Manager for the "SPoC - Single Point of Contact Project," aiming to create a customer-centric organization.

- Maria José obtained a Licentiate Degree in Business Administration and Management from Escola Superior de Gestão - Instituto Politécnico de Tomar, from 1995 to 2000.

- From 2006 to 2008, they pursued a Master's Degree in Accounting and Business/Management from ISCTE Business School.

- Maria José completed Executive Education in "The 3 Pillars: Communicating, Persuading, and Negotiating" from Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics in 2013.
