Ben Grasel

Ben Grasel has over 12 years of experience in the actuarial field. Ben is currently the Director of Actuarial and Medical Economics at Somatus since January 2022. Prior to their current role, they worked at Florida Blue as a Managing Actuary from December 2018 to December 2021, where they led a team in building and improving a predictive population model to assess potential legislative and policy impact. Before that, they were a Senior Actuary at Healthmap Solutions from January 2016 to December 2018. In this role, they analyzed the value proposition of the company's Chronic Kidney Disease Management program and presented analytics to internal and external stakeholders. Ben also worked at Solstice Benefits, Inc. as an Actuarial Associate from August 2015 to December 2015, where they revamped the reserve lag triangle file and assisted in filings for dental and critical illness products. Ben began their career as an Actuary I at WellCare Health Plans from January 2010 to December 2014, where they worked on health analytics and ROI tracking for the Medicare RAPS initiative, before rotating to the Medicaid team.

Ben Grasel attended Florida State University from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science.
