Irene de Craen is an accomplished advisor and editor at Sonsbeek since August 2024, contributing to the history of public art exhibitions in the Netherlands. As the Editor In Chief and Founding Director of Errant Journal since January 2020, Irene shapes a cultural and political publication that challenges conventional notions of identity and knowledge. Other roles include copyeditor for SOMO, translator for Framer Framed, and freelance editor for the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Irene's involvement with the Amsterdam Arts Council and as co-founder of common-place highlights a commitment to the intersections of culture and politics. Irene has a Master's Degree in the History of Art from the University of Amsterdam, alongside undergraduate degrees in Art History and Fine Arts, and additional studies in curatorial practices.
