Nasim Taghizadeh Alamdari

Nasim Taghizadeh Alamdari has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and audio applications. They are currently employed at Sonde Health, Inc. as an Applied Scientist. Prior to this, Nasim worked as a Machine Learning Engineer (Capstone) at FourthBrain, where they led a project on multilingual custom keyword spotting using Few-shot learning on AWS. Nasim also gained experience as a Research Engineer II at Starkey Hearing, where they designed and deployed machine and deep learning algorithms for audio applications and assistive hearing devices. They collaborated with various teams and conducted perceptual experiments to validate the audio algorithms.

Earlier in their career, Nasim had internships at Google and Tencent America. At Google as a Hardware Engineering Intern, they implemented a machine learning-based test for evaluating the performance of microphone sound channel sealing in smart devices. At Tencent America, as a Research Intern, Nasim collaborated on implementing a frame-by-frame deep learning-based beamformer and acoustic model for noise-robust automatic speaker recognition.

Nasim then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Dakota, which they completed between 2014 and 2016.

Continuing their academic journey, Nasim went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Speech Signal Processing at The University of Texas at Dallas, where they studied from 2017 to 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Nasim obtained a Professional Certificate in Machine Learning Engineering from FourthBrain between 2022 and 2023. Nasim also acquired various certifications, including AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials Day from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in May 2023, and several certifications from Coursera. These Coursera certifications include "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" in July 2022, "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter Tuning, Regularization, and Optimization" in July 2022, "Structuring Machine Learning Projects" in August 2022, and "Sequence Models" in September 2022.
