Andreas Flamm has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Andreas is currently working as the VP of Commercial Finance at sonnen GmbH since July 2021. Prior to this, they served as the CFO and Director of Corporate Functions at Entelios CWE from August 2017 to July 2021. In this role, they led the Corporate Functions Department and was responsible for finance, controlling, legal, risk management, HR, back office, project management office, and regulatory affairs. Andreas also held the position of Director of Regulatory Affairs Europe at Entelios from August 2014 to August 2017, where they advocated for markets for flexibility, demand response, storage, and decentralized renewable generation.
Andreas also had significant involvement in smartEn Smart Energy Europe, where they served as the Chairman of the Board from July 2020 to June 2021 and as Chairman of the Markets Committee from September 2015 to October 2020. In these unpaid positions, they provided leadership and strategic direction to the association and led market design work to make the demand side a more active participant in energy markets.
Additionally, Andreas worked as a Senior Economist at Ofgem from April 2012 to July 2014, leading the GB wholesale electricity markets team and playing a key role in reforming the British imbalance pricing arrangements. Before that, they worked as an Economic Consultant at Deloitte from September 2010 to March 2012, advising clients in the energy, post, and telecommunications sectors on economic, financial, and public policy matters.
Andreas began their career at SICK AG, where they held roles as an Enterprise Architect from January 2008 to September 2008, and as an Inhouse Business Intelligence Consultant and Project Manager from October 2003 to December 2007.
Andreas Flamm has a diverse educational background with a focus on economics and business administration. In 2000, they began their undergraduate studies at Duale Hochschule Villingen-Schwenningen, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and IT in 2003. Andreas then pursued further education in the field of economics by completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Economics at Queen Mary University of London from 2008 to 2009. Andreas Flamm's academic journey continued at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Economics in 2010.
