John C. Davis Jr.

John C. Davis Jr. is a Board Member at Sonoma Biotherapeutics. Prior to this, they were the Head of Research & Development at Magenta Therapeutics from April 2020 to August 2021. From February 2018 to August 2021, they served as the Chief Medical Officer at Magenta Therapeutics. Before that, they were the Senior Vice President, Head of Early Clinical Development at Pfizer from January 2016 to December 2018.

From January 2015 to December 2016, John was the Vice President, Clinical Research & Development; Global Therapeutic Head, Immunology at Baxalta. John was then acquired by Shire. From January 2014 to December 2015, they served as the Senior Group Director at Genentech. From January 2012 to December 2015, they were the Therapeutic Area Head, Inflammation / CV / Metabolism, Early Clinical Development at Genentech. And finally, from January 2011 to December 2014, they were the Group Director at Genentech.

John C. Davis Jr. has a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, and did their rheumatology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. John completed their residency in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and earned their Doctor of Medicine from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where they graduated summa cum laude. John also has a master's degree in anatomy from UMB and a bachelor's degree in zoology from The George Washington University.
