David is an Engineer and Physicist who has spent the past 30-years working in academia, conducting world-leading research. Before that he spent nearly 12-years in industry working on telecommunication technologies and regulatory aspects for BT.
David’s research and numerous commercial products focus on providing solutions that benefit humanity. Application areas for his inventions include radio systems, radio imaging and medical imaging. All are covered by patents and proprietary IP.
David has received a number of awards for his work, including the IEE Prize for Innovation, the N.P.L. Metrology Award, the IEE Mountbatten premium (two papers), the IEEE Neal Shepherd Memorial Award and the “Automated RF & Microwave Measurement Society” (ARMMS 2006) award.
David is a former Chairman of the Faculty of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford and Sub-Warden of Wadham College, Oxford. He is a founder of three start-up companies, and has been developing Sonosine’s patented Electro Magnetic Acoustics (EMA) technology since 2006. As chief technology officer, he directs the technical evolution of EMA and other products.
