Ashley Morton-Bye

Ashley Morton-Bye has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. They began their career in 2006 as an Officer in the Royal Navy, where they held positions as a helicopter pilot and later worked in management and project implementation.

In 2016, Ashley pursued an MSc in Information Security at the Royal Holloway, University of London, where they focused on developing a model for an engaged information security culture.

After completing their degree, Ashley worked as a Security and Compliance Manager at Wirehive from 2017 to 2018. In this role, they were responsible for information security strategy, achieving ISO 27001 certification, and implementing GDPR compliant policies.

From 2018 to 2020, Ashley joined 8th Light as a Crafter and later took on the role of Lead Crafter. Their responsibilities included consulting on Java and Python software development, introducing DevOps processes, and increasing feedback frequency and speed for clients.

They then joined Nominet in 2020, initially as a DevOps Engineering Manager and later as a Data Platform Engineering Manager. In these roles, they led teams, focused on automation and software delivery processes, and developed a scalable data platform capable of processing millions of DNS requests per second.

Most recently, Ashley joined Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2022 as a Senior Software Engineer.

Ashley also completed their A Levels at Southend High School for Boys from 2002 to 2004.
