Babu Durairaj

Babu Durairaj is currently the Director of Software Engineering at Sony Interactive Entertainment, a position they have held since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Amazon from 2012 to 2023. During their time at Amazon, they held various roles including Senior SDM for Amazon Luna - Core Streaming, Senior SDM for Amazon Appstore, and Software Development Manager for Fire OS Framework. In these roles, they were responsible for managing teams, developing and enhancing streaming technologies, integrating GPU technology, migrating game catalogs to Linux, improving streaming quality, and overseeing various app and framework developments.

Before joining Amazon, Durairaj worked as a Consultant in Mobile Software Solutions as a self-employed individual from 2010 to 2012. Babu developed and published Android applications in Google Play and Amazon Appstore, and provided consultation services and training in Android to corporate clients.

Prior to that, they worked at Mindtree Wireless Pvt Ltd as the Lead Architect for Software Engineering in the NIW-Phone Division from 2009 to 2011. Babu was responsible for leading the software architecture team, ensuring compatibility with Android, complying with AT&T requirements, and evaluating vendors.

Durairaj also worked at Kyocera International - Communications Equipment Group from 2003 to 2009 as a Manager of Software Engineering. During this time, they executed improvements to the UI platform and managed the BREW Platform Team.

Babu'searlier work experience includes a brief stint at Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd as a Software Engineer in 2003, and at Satyam Computer Services Limited as a Senior Software Engineer from 2000 to 2003. At Satyam, they developed True BREW certified applications and implemented RSA Authentication for AMAT's GDC Dashboard.

Babu Durairaj started their education in 1982 at Mahatma Gandhi Centenary Vidhyalaya, Trichy, where they completed their Primary and High School education. From 1994 to 1996, they attended E.R. Higher Secondary School, where they pursued Higher Secondary Education with a focus on Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Computers. Babu Durairaj then went on to Bharathidasan University from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science.
