Joshua Kow has a diverse work experience in the legal field, starting with their current role as a Corporate Counsel, Privacy & Data at Sony Interactive Entertainment since July 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Meta as a Lead Counsel, APAC Privacy from November 2021 to June 2023, and as a Counsel, APAC Privacy (via Nicoll Curtin) from December 2020 to November 2021.
Before their time at Meta, Joshua was an Advisor at Horangi Cyber Security from January 2020 to December 2020. Joshua also held the positions of Legal Executive and later Legal Counsel at Horangi Cyber Security from December 2016 to December 2019.
Additionally, Joshua worked as a Legal Counsel at Klook from January 2020 to December 2020. Earlier in their career, they gained experience as a Legal Trainee (Intellectual Property) at Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow from January 2018 to July 2018, and as a Legal Intern at Google from May 2016 to July 2016.
Joshua Kow holds an LL.B. (Second Class Upper Honors) degree from the National University of Singapore. Joshua also participated in the JD Program as a visiting student at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. In terms of certifications, they are an Advocate & Solicitor certified by the Supreme Court of Singapore. Joshua has also obtained various certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), including Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Asia (CIPP/A), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), and Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP). Additionally, they hold the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² and a Practitioner Certificate in Personal Data Protection (Singapore) from the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC).
