Owen Tao has extensive work experience in the gaming industry. Owen started their career as a Programmer at Electronic Arts in June 2006, where they developed game engine technology and pipeline tools for an unreleased title. Owen'sresponsibilities included optimizing game content for runtime performance and creating additional content pipeline modules. In December 2006, they joined Bizarre Creations as a Senior Programmer in the Core Technologies Group, focusing on tools programming. Owen played a key role in developing the in-house level editing solution used in multiple published titles. Owen then joined Sony Interactive Entertainment in March 2011 as a Senior Tools Engineer, working in various areas such as tools and runtime technology. Owen led the development of tools for an unannounced project and had full responsibility for the offline distributed lighting pipeline. Owen was later promoted to Principal Programmer in February 2017.
Owen Tao completed their education history with a MSc in Advanced Computer Science from The University of Manchester in 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a BSc (Hons) 1st Class in Computer Science from the University of Liverpool, graduating in 2004.
