Amanda Verpoorte

Amanda Verpoorte has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Amanda is currently working at SOPHiA GENETICS as the Business Innovation Senior Director since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at SOPHiA GENETICS as the Medical Innovation Strategy Director from October 2020 to February 2023. Earlier in their career, Amanda worked as an Associate at McKinsey & Company from September 2018 to October 2020. Amanda also gained experience as a Strategic Planning Trainee at Pictet Wealth Management from January 2018 to July 2018. Additionally, Amanda worked as a Scientist at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne from April 2017 to December 2017.

Amanda Verpoorte has a strong education background in bioengineering and biomedical engineering. Amanda completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioengineering at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 2012 to 2017. Prior to that, they pursued their Master of Science (MS) in Bioengineering from 2009 to 2011, also at EPFL. In 2010 and 2011, they did their Master thesis in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London. Amanda's academic journey started at EPFL, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Life Sciences and Technologies from 2006 to 2009. Before entering university, they attended the International School of Geneva and completed their Maturité Fédérale in 2006.
