Lorraine Dawirs

Lorraine Dawirs is an experienced bioinformatician currently serving as Manager of Bioinformatics at SOPHiA GENETICS since June 2021. Lorraine has a robust background in bioinformatics, having previously held roles as Associate Manager and Bioinformatician at the same company, focusing on tertiary analysis and the development of ETL processing using PySpark and pSQL. Prior to SOPHiA GENETICS, Lorraine worked at GSK from September 2017 to June 2021, contributing to vaccine development through bioinformatics support, developing bioinformatics analysis pipelines, coordinating a machine learning project, and creating applications for data pre-treatment and visualization. Lorraine began the career as a Statistician at GSK, providing statistical support for technical development projects. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Statistics from Université catholique de Louvain and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Technology from Haute Ecole 'Léonard de Vinci'.
