Andy Crawford has over 30 years of work experience, starting in 1993 with multiple IT support contracts in both the public and private sectors. Andy then worked as a Desktop Support Team Leader at Hewlett Packard Enterprise from 1996 to 1999. After that, Andy worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at BAE Systems from 1999 to 2001.
From 2001 to 2010, Andy worked at the UK Hydrographic Office, initially as a Senior Infrastructure Architect, where they designed and delivered infrastructure projects before transitioning into managing IT support staff and successfully transforming the server and storage estate to a virtualized platform.
In 2010, Andy joined Sopra Steria as a Solution Architect, designing IT solutions for a large multi-site infrastructure. From 2012 to 2014, they served as a Senior Solutions Architect & TDA at Sopra Steria, leading a team of architects and delivering large-scale, secure infrastructure solutions.
After their time at Sopra Steria, Andy returned to HM Land Registry in 2014, working as a Senior Solutions Architect on organization-wide change programs. Andy then became the Head of IT Infrastructure & Security Architecture in 2019, jointly leading the Technical Architecture group and managing various responsibilities such as development of the architecture practice, technical debt management, and mentoring.
Currently, Andy is working as a Principal Technical Architect at Sopra Steria, a position they started in 2023.
Andy Crawford obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science from the University of Liverpool in 1990. Andy has also obtained additional certifications in various fields, including Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals, Cloud Architecture, Archimate, TOGAF 9.0 Practitioner (Parts 1 & 2), and Prince 2 Practitioner.
