Askar Sheibani has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting in 1989, they served as a Director for Comtek Electronics Ltd until 2006. In 2011, they became the Chair of Deeside Business Forum, a grassroots business organization that advocates for the interests of the business community in North East Wales and North West England. During the same year, they were appointed as the Entrepreneurship Champion for Wales by the Welsh Government, where they aimed to increase the number of new businesses in the region. In 2014, they became the CEO of Sorrento Networks International Inc., a global manufacturer of metro optical edge and core solutions. Askar also joined Wrexham Glyndŵr University as a Board Member and Honorary Fellow. In 2017, they founded and chaired the UK Fibre Connectivity Forum, which focuses on shaping the UK's gigabit speed connectivity and digital economy. In 2019, they took on the position of Chairman for Uchelgais Gogledd Cymru | Ambition North Wales - Business Delivery Board, where they oversee the allocation of funds for critical infrastructure development and digital connectivity projects in North Wales. Askar also became a SME sector Council Member for the Confederation of Business Industry (CBI) in the same year.
Askar Sheibani attended Liverpool John Moores University from 1976 to 1979, where they studied Electronics Engineering.
