Yan Liang Zhang is a Principal Scientist at Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc. since January 2010, focusing on the construction and screening of phage antibody libraries, as well as developing methods for displaying these libraries on mammalian cell surfaces using flow cytometry and MACS. Previously, as a Senior Scientist at La Jolla Bioengineering Institute from September 2003 to November 2009, Yan Zhang studied signal transduction pathways and the roles of RTK and GPCR in cardiovascular endothelial cells. Earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Research Scientist at Corvas (now Dendreon), constructing phage display libraries, and postdoctoral positions at The Scripps Research Institute, the University of Southern California, and UCLA. Yan Zhang holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Purdue University, where studies were completed from 1988 to 1993.
