Benedict Carter

Benedict Carter is a seasoned professional in the art auction sector, currently serving as Senior Director and Head of the Islamic & Indian Art Department at Sotheby's since April 2019. Previously, Benedict held the role of Senior Director and Head of Auction Sales for the Middle East Department from 2013 to 2018. Educationally, Benedict possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Bristol, along with a Master of Arts in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Additionally, Benedict is an alumnus of Downside School.
