Amy Jensen Smith

Amy Jensen Smith has a diverse work experience in the field of biotech and research. Amy is currently the Vice President of Discovery Research at SOTIO Biotech Inc., where they have been since 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Director and Head of Discovery at the same company since 2020.

Before joining SOTIO Biotech Inc., Amy worked at bluebird bio from 2015 to 2020. Amy'sroles at bluebird bio included Director of Oncology Research, Associate Director, Senior Scientist, and Scientist II.

Amy's earlier experience includes a position as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Novartis from 2012 to 2015. At Novartis, they conducted research on various projects related to ocular development and corneal wound healing. Amy also managed collaborations and engaged in manuscript preparation.

Prior to their time at Novartis, Amy worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Cancer Institute from 2010 to 2012 and as a Doctoral Researcher at Dartmouth College from 2005 to 2010. At Dartmouth, their research focused on the intersection of TLR4 and estrogen receptor signaling pathways in human monocytes and macrophages.

Amy Jensen Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2001 to 2005. Amy then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physiology/Immunology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth from 2005 to 2010.
