CG Art Director at Soul Machines

Werner Ollewagen has a diverse work experience that spans various roles in different companies. Werner began their career as a Lecturer at AUT University's Digital Design Department in 2011. Werner then worked as a Graphic Designer at Images & Sound before joining the Institute for Radio Astronomy And Space Research in 2011. There, they served as a Researcher & Designer, working on a project related to dynamic visualization of satellite data.

In 2012, Ollewagen briefly worked as a VFX Layout Artist at Pacific Renaissance 'Spartacus' Ltd before moving on to Eyeworks nz as a Freelance VFX artist. Werner also worked as a 3D & Video production artist at clanmouse, contributing to various animation and video production projects.

From 2013 to 2014, Ollewagen worked as a Freelance Videographer for Augusto and FRONTSIDE, gaining experience in filming and video editing. In 2014, they joined the Laboratory for Animate Technologies as a Computer Graphics Artist, working primarily in the field of computer graphics.

Ollewagen's most recent role is at Soul Machines, where they serve as a CG Art Director. Werner initially joined the company in 2018 as a Supervising Artist and later transitioned into their current role.

Werner Ollewagen pursued their education in a chronological manner. Beginning in 2007, they attended the Campus of Performing Arts where they obtained their Grade 4 certification from the Royal School of Music. Werner continued their educational journey by enrolling in the Auckland University of Technology in 2009. There, they completed their Bachelor of Art and Design degree with a specialization in Digital Design in 2012.
