John Argent

John Argent began their career in 1991 as a Technical Assistant at ExxonMobil. John then moved on to roles at Hess Corporation, where they worked from 1996 to 2004 in various geologist positions, including a secondment to Triton Energy in 2002-2004. Following this, they joined Paladin Resources plc as a Senior Geologist from 2004 to 2005. From 2006 to 2016, John worked at BG Group in several roles, including Global New Ventures Delivery Manager and Venture Manager. Most recently, they served as the Vice President Geoscience at Sound Energy plc, leading subsurface evaluations and development efforts in Morocco and other regions.

John Argent completed their Bachelor of Science in Geology/Earth Science from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd in 1991. John then went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in Geology/Earth Science from the University of Oxford in 1996. In 2002, John received certification as a Chartered Geologist from the Geological Society of London.
