Mark Flynn has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Mark is currently working as the Chief Audiology Officer and Global Commercialisation Lead at Sound Scouts since February 2023. Prior to this, Mark founded and was the Principal of Global Edge Medtech Consulting, a consultancy group focused on health technology, process, and policy development.

Mark also held various roles at the University of Newcastle, including Chair of the Medical Engineering External Advisory Board, Executive Director & Professor of the Global Impact Cluster for Better Health, Healthcare, and Treatment, and Acting Director of Newcastle Innovation. Mark Flynn completed their education in a variety of fields and obtained several certifications throughout their career. Mark earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Global Policy Making, International Relations, Business Strategy & Management & Leadership from Georgetown University in 2016-2017. In the same period, they also completed an MBA program with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation at Esade.

Earlier in their education, Mark obtained a PhD in Otolaryngology (Medicine) from the University of Melbourne, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Mark also received a Graduate Diploma in Audiology from the University of Melbourne in 1994. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Speech-language Pathology with Honors from La Trobe University between 1990 and 1993.

In addition to their formal education, Mark obtained several certifications. Mark completed the Principles of GCP course from TransCelerate BioPharma Inc. in April 2021. In 2014, they completed the Applied Methods of Cost Effective Analysis program from the Health Economics Research Centre at the University of Oxford. Mark also obtained a Certificate of Clinical Supervision from La Trobe University in 1996 and a Certificate of Clinical Competence from Audiology Australia in 1995. Additionally, Mark acquired a certification in Business Model Innovation from Strategizer in 2010.
