Carter is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) & Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Accreditation Board (AB) Registered Practitioner (RP) with over 23 years of government, commercial, & law enforcement experience in cybersecurity, cyber threat intelligence, cyber law, criminal investigations, and risk management. Over the years Carter’s worked for the DoD, DHS, Department of Education (DOE), Georgia Bar Association for Continuing Learning Education (CLE), and Smart Cities; many of his products still being actively used. He is a frequent invited guest speaker at Government and industry events for his cybersecurity expertise, including: Washington Cyber Roundtable, Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), and Smart Cities Cybersecurity Symposium. He’s published and contributed to many published works on Cybersecurity, such as: How to Improve Cybersecurity Through Acquisition and recently co-authored GUIDANCE FOR SMART CITIES & MUNICIPALITIES CYBER SUPPLY CHAIN RISK MANAGEMENT (SCRM) published by National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST).
