Thomas Andersen has a diverse work experience in various industries. Thomas is currently working as a Product Analyst at Source.ag, where they focus on developing technology to increase access to healthy food while protecting the environment. Previously, Thomas worked as a Crop Protection Manager at Mount Elgon Orchards Ltd, where they managed a team and implemented decision support systems for greenhouse rose production. Thomas also had internship experience at the UN Environment Programme, where they assisted with civil society engagement and managed a publication series on global environmental affairs. Additionally, Thomas worked as a Waiter and Barstaff Team Member at Splendid.co.uk, gaining experience in catering and mixology. Thomas also worked as a Production & Quality Supervisor at Mt. Elgon Orchards, where they conducted pest and disease identification and provided training to harvesting teams. Thomas started their professional journey as an intern at Crop Nutrition Laboratory Services, where they developed skills in laboratory analysis and soil mapping.
Thomas Andersen completed their high school education at St Andrew's College in Grahamstown from 2009 to 2013. Thomas then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecological and Environmental Science with Business Management at The University of Edinburgh from 2014 to 2018. Following this, Thomas attended Wageningen University & Research from 2019 to 2022, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Plant Pathology and Entomology with a minor in Remote Sensing, specializing in Plant Sciences.
