Delilah Tyson

Delilah Tyson has nearly 20 years of experience in managing SoBro’s commercial, low-income, and special needs housing projects. She has expertise in social service programs and the funding, contract, and programmatic requirements of the NYC Human Resources Administration. Tyson also serves as SoBro’s representative on the NYC Supportive Housing Network, remaining abreast of social services and programming for individuals and families in need.

In addition to directly supervising human resources and the property management and social services teams, Tyson serves as the organization’s lead operational and administrative officer and key member of the executive team.

Before joining SoBro, Tyson served as the Director of Operations at Clinton Housing Development Company, where she was responsible for managing Clinton Housing’s daily organizational operations with an annual operating budget of $15 million. In addition to supervising the management and maintenance of more than 450 units of affordable, market-rate, and special needs housing, she was also responsible for cultivating partnerships with city agencies and community residents.

Tyson also served as Senior Administrative Manager for the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, where she dedicated her efforts to ensuring that the community had a fair share of business opportunities, neighborhood events, and beautification efforts.

Born and raised in Harlem, Tyson holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Social Science.
