Carmen Rivera Torres has a diverse work experience spanning over more than two decades. Carmen started their career as a Store Manager at Payless ShoeSource in 1995 and worked there until 2002. After that, they worked as a Certified Medical Assistant at Urological Associates of Bridgeport from 2002 to 2007. In 2009, they joined Southwest Community Health Center as an RN Coordinator, where they supervised and oversaw a busy ambulatory pediatric practice. Carmen also served as the Director of the Teen Parents Program at the same organization. In 2018, they joined Fair Haven Community Health Care as the Director of Nursing and continued in that role until 2019. Carmen's most recent position was at Southwest Community Health Center Inc, where they initially served as the Director of Nursing Services from 2019 to 2020 and then advanced to the role of Chief Nursing Officer in 2020, their current position.
Carmen Rivera Torres has a diverse education history in the field of nursing. Carmen first attended Housatonic Community College from 2004 to 2007, earning an Associate in Science Nursing degree. From 2007 to 2009, they attended Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and obtained a Diploma in Nursing, specializing in Registered Nursing. Carmen then pursued further education at Western Governors University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree with a focus on Clinical Nurse Leader from 2014 to 2015. Carmen later completed a Master of Science in Nursing degree with a specialization in Nursing Administration from Western Governors University between 2015 and 2017.
