Meena Beyers

Meena Beyers has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Meena started their career as a Community Planner for the City of Naperville in 2002. Meena then moved on to become the Building Division Manager for the Village of Oak Park, where they managed the building permit process and supervised staff. In 2006, Meena became the Village Planner for the Village of Brookfield, where they managed planning, zoning, and code activities.

In 2010, Meena joined Resource Solutions Group as a Senior Marketing Project Manager, where they led marketing strategies for energy efficiency programs. Meena then transitioned to Southern Company Gas in 2013 and held multiple roles, including Director of Marketing and Communications for the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program and Managing Director of Customer and Partner Engagement for energy efficiency. Meena also served as the Director of Business Support and Director of Market Strategy before becoming the Vice President of Business and Community Development for Nicor Gas in 2020.

Lastly, in 2018, Meena also took on a role as a Fellow at Leadership Greater Chicago. Throughout their career, Meena has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and community engagement skills in the energy and utilities sector.

Meena Beyers completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Public Service Management from DePaul University between 2006 and 2008. Earlier, they obtained a Bachelor of Urban Planning and Development degree from Ball State University, which they pursued from 1998 to 2002.
