Michael Ruiz

Michael Ruiz graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1993 and began their career as a staff attorney at Land of Lincoln Legal Aid. In 1997, they became the Director of Admissions, Media, and Community Affairs at Southern Illinois University School of Law, a position they held for 10 years. In 2007, Ruiz returned to Southern Illinois University, this time as the Assistant Dean of Career Services & Special Programs. Michael has held this position for 13 years.

Michael Ruiz attended the University of Chicago Law School, where they earned their Juris Doctor. Prior to attending law school, they studied political science at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, earning their Bachelor of Arts.

Michael Ruiz reports to Camille Davidson, Dean, School of Law. They work with Steve Masias - Interim Associate Dean, Academic Affairs, Douglas Lind - Director, Law Library, and Judith Ray - Assistant Dean, Administration & Student Affairs.
