Jan Bontz

Jan Bontz is an experienced education professional with a strong background in curriculum development, consulting, and leadership within the charter school sector. Currently serving as the Lead Curriculum Writer at the Southern Regional Education Board since October 2014, Jan focuses on developing project-based learning (PBL) curricula for high schools emphasizing STEM and authentic learning applications. Previous roles include being a national faculty member and PBL consultant at the Buck Institute for Education, and an education consultant at Bontz Education Consulting, LLC. Jan has also contributed as a charter school consultant for organizations such as the Wisconsin Charter School Association and Edvisions, and as a charter school principal at Northwoods Community School, where leadership centered on fostering innovative PBL environments. Jan holds a Doctor of Education degree from Nova Southeastern University and multiple certifications in education from the University of Wisconsin.
