Alastair Hercus

Alastair Hercus is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience across various sectors. As Commissioner at Toka Tū Ake EQC since March 2020 and a Director of Fonterra Shareholders’ Fund since November 2022, Alastair brings a wealth of expertise. Alastair has been a Partner at Buddle Findlay since May 1991, where contributions include drafting significant legislation and advising numerous health and primary sector organizations. Additionally, Alastair has held multiple leadership roles, including Chair of Co-operative Life Ltd, Invercargill Airport Limited, and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment Risk and Advisory Committee, as well as serving as a trustee for Cancer Trials New Zealand. Alastair's academic background includes a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington and a BA (Hons) from the University of Otago.
