Matt Haste

Matt Haste has extensive experience in academia and the religious sector. Matt currently holds the position of Director of Professional Doctoral Studies and Associate Professor of Biblical Spirituality at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, a role they have held since July 2019. Matt is also an Adjunct Instructor of Christian Ministry at the same institution since May 2013. Prior to this, they worked as a Ministry Connections staff member at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from December 2012 to August 2015.

In addition to their work at the seminary, Matt Haste has served as the Pastor of Preaching at Midlands Church since April 2016. Matt was an Associate Professor of Ministry Studies at Columbia International University from August 2015. Matt also served as the College Minister at the church from May 2005 to September 2010.

Matt Haste has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Religious Studies from Western Kentucky University. Matt then pursued a Masters of Divinity degree in Christian Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from 2005 to 2008. Later, they completed their education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biblical Spirituality from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary between 2011 and 2015.
