Simon Turner

Simon Turner is an experienced professional in the manufacturing, testing, and inspection of CFRP materials and structures, currently serving as the Director at Waitemata NDT since December 2023. With over 25 years in the industry, Simon has developed expertise in ultrasonics, including phased array and conventional UT equipment, ensuring thorough inspections. Previously, Simon held various roles at Southern Spars, starting as a specialist in the Eastman plotter cutter and advancing to QA/NDT within the R&D department. Simon's career began at Marten Yachts as a boatbuilder, where skills in composite manufacturing were honed, followed by a foundational role at Stewart GP/Jaguar Racing, where responsibilities included setting up a stock control system and manufacturing carbon fibre components for Formula 1 cars.
