Rodney Braxton

Rodney Braxton's work experience begins in 1993, when they were hired as the first Executive Director of the Louisiana Commission on Human Rights (LCHR). In this role, they were responsible for handling complaints of employment discrimination and setting up the agency's processes. From 1996 to 2000, Braxton worked in the Office of the Governor, first as a Special Assistant and then as the Assistant Chief of Staff. Rodney then joined the Board of Regents as the Associate Commissioner for Governmental Relations until 2000. Braxton then worked in the Louisiana Department of Labor, first as the Undersecretary and later as the Interim Secretary. Rodney acted as the head of the department during a transitional period, managing the budget and employees. In 2003, Braxton became the President and Manager of Capitol Strategies Group Consulting, LLC, and in 2004, they became the President of Southern Strategy Group - Louisiana.

Rodney Braxton obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Finance from the University of New Orleans from 1984 to 1988. Following this, they attended Tulane University Law School from 1989 to 1992, earning their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law. In October 1992, they obtained a certification as a Licensed Attorney from the Louisiana State Bar Association. Later, in 2002, Rodney pursued a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Public Administration from Louisiana State University.
