Jem Anderson has over three decades of work experience, with a strong background in data analysis, operations research, and systems engineering. They have held various roles in different companies, contributing to a wide range of projects and initiatives.
Starting in 1989, Jem worked for the US Air Force in various positions, including Lieutenant, Captain, and Lieutenant Colonel. During their tenure, they led combat assessment teams, advised on the acquisition of ISR systems, and provided services to an Army Civil Affairs brigade operating in Iraq.
In 1999, Jem transitioned to the civilian sector and joined Booz Allen Hamilton as an Associate, specializing in performance analysis. From there, they moved to BAE Systems Information Technology, where they served as a Principal Systems Engineer, advising government clients on software-intensive systems acquisition, development, and integration.
In 2011, Jem joined S2 Analytical Solutions, LLC as a Systems Engineer. They then worked as a User Engagement Specialist and Systems Engineer at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems from 2013 to 2015, where they engaged users to identify needs and mentored junior engineers.
From 2015 to 2017, Jem worked for TASC, an Engility Company, as a Customer Engagement Specialist, representing and advising a Government Program Office to its customer base.
In 2017, Jem joined Innovative Decisions, Inc. as a Senior Analyst. In this role, they led multi-objective decision analysis projects, supported the White House in tracking the COVID-19 pandemic, and conducted research on supply risk to the US from the worldwide market for strategic materials.
From 2021 to 2022, Jem worked as a Data Analyst at MARSOC for Occam Solutions, Inc. (via Insight Global). In this position, they helped characterize course attrition, developed educational materials, and supported the Cognitive Raider initiative.
Currently, Jem is employed at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. as a Senior Data Analyst/Operations Research Specialist, utilizing their expertise in data analysis and operations research.
Jem Anderson pursued their Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute between 1984 and 1988. Afterward, between 1995 and 2004, they completed their Master of Arts in International Affairs from The Catholic University of America. Later, Jem pursued a Master's degree in Data Analytics Engineering, specializing in Predictive Analytics, at George Mason University from 2016 to 2018.
