Michael Kinney

Mr. Kinney is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) with over ten years of experience in the engineering and IT fields working for US Coast Guard, Perot Systems, Dell Federal Solutions, Herren Associates, Perspecta, and Systems Planning and Analysis. He is currently the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at SPA where he is responsible for Cybersecurity and Classified Information Systems. Previously, Mr. Kinney was a Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) filling the roles of Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) for several Army applications at Perspecta. Mr. Kinney was the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Herren Associates where he maintained the company infrastructure, consulted as a Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the federal government, and led business development efforts in the Cyber Security/IT markets. Mr. Kinney also worked as a mechanical engineer for Dell Federal Services in the Navy’s Submarine Rescue Program Office and for Perot Systems as a Program Analyst providing IT/Cyber Security support to the Navy’s Virginia Class Submarine Program Office. Mr. Kinney was also part of the US Coast Guard Reserves Search and Rescue (SAR) team for Integrated Support Command (ISC) Portsmouth while pursuing his Bachelors at Virginia Tech.
