John then moved on to Paragon Space Development Corporation as a Senior Aerospace Engineer, providing oversight and guidance for CFD simulations and managing engineering projects. John also worked at World View as a Research Engineer and later as the Director of Mission Operations and Lead Launch Engineer, where they led research efforts and managed mission operations functions. John'smost recent role is as a Lead Research and Development Engineer at Space Perspective, where they are responsible for engineering tasks and the development of flight plans.

John Straus received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, which they attended from 1980 to 1985. John then pursued a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, completing their doctoral studies from 1985 to 1991.
