Arch Rao

Arch Rao has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Arch is currently the Founder and CEO of Span, a company they started in 2018. Prior to that, they worked at Tesla Motors from 2013 to 2018, where they held the role of Head of Products, Application & Sales Engineering for Tesla Energy. Arch also worked as a Technical Advisor at The Westly Group from 2014 to 2016. In 2011, they co-founded Verdigris Technologies and served as a Co-Founder until 2013. Before that, Arch worked as an Energy Consultant at LCG Consulting from 2010 to 2011. Arch also served as a Founding Engineer and Director of Business Development at Joby Energy from 2008 to 2010. Arch began their career as a Consultant at Stanford Environment Consulting in 2007 and also worked as a Graduate Researcher from 2005 to 2007.

Arch Rao attended Stanford University from 2004 to 2006, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Automotive Engineering from the University of Madras, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Arch Rao also pursued a PhD in Energy at Stanford University from 2006 to 2008, although they did not complete the program.
