Research & Development Engineer at SPAN

Austin Jin has a diverse work experience in the field of electrical engineering. Austin started their career as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they worked from 2016 to 2018. During this time, they served as a Teaching Assistant and also participated in research projects as a Research Assistant.

In 2018, Austin joined Milwaukee Tool as an Electrical Engineer II, specializing in power electronics. In this role, they were responsible for designing, testing, and validating new electronics platforms for multiple business units. Specifically, they developed the M18 and Dual M18 BLDC electronics platforms.

Currently, Austin works at SPAN as a Research & Development Engineer. Their work focuses on electrical engineering in R&D, particularly in developing the next-gen smart electrical panel. Their responsibilities include participating in topology developments of DC-DC converters for solar, home battery, and vehicle power conversion, as well as disconnects in smart electric panels. This involves activities such as models/simulations, design, test/validation, and analysis.

Austin Jin completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2016. Austin then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the same university, completing their studies in 2018.
