Luis Alvarez-Vallina

Luis Alvarez-Vallina is an accomplished researcher and leader in the field of cancer immunotherapy, currently serving as the Head of the H12O-CNIO Cancer Immunotherapy Clinical Research Unit at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre since November 2022. In addition, Luis has held significant roles as Group Leader at the Instituto de Investigación 12 de Octubre and Head of the Cancer Immunotherapy Unit at Hospital 12 de Octubre since September 2017. Previous experience includes an Associate Professor position at Aarhus University and a Consultant/Group Leader role at the Molecular Immunology Unit of Hospital Universitario Puerta De Hierro Majadahonda. Luis has a strong academic background, with a Ph.D. in Immunology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and an M.D. from Universidad de Oviedo. Notable contributions include postdoctoral research at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology and a visiting professorship at Mayo Clinic Rochester.
